Korea and Japan Team Up for "Ghost" Remake

One of Hollywood's iconic films, Ghost, has received the Asian treatment. Paramount Japan helms the project with Japanese leading actress, Nanako Matsushima, and one of Japan's favorite Hallyu stars, Song Seung Heon, in the starring roles.

Twenty years has passed since the original's release and they are hoping to reinvent the story-line to reflect modern society. From the looks of the trailer, we're getting a gender switch as it seems Matsushima's character will be the "ghost." I'm curious as to how this film will fair knowing that production decided to do without some of the first movie's most famous scenes (ie. no to the pottery scene). However, we all know remakes have a tendency to be either really good or really bad, and in this case I hope for the former. It will be known in Korea as Love and Soul (사랑과 영혼), and simply as Ghost (ゴースト) in Japan. It will premiere November 13th.
